Rich Baer is the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Qwest Communications.

Mr. Baer previously served as special legal counsel to the Qwest Chairman and CEO. Prior to that, he had been chairman of the litigation department at the Denver law firm of Sherman & Howard.

Mr. Baer received his bachelor of arts degree from Columbia University and his juris doctorate from Duke University.

Mr. Baer serves on the Board of the Colorado Legal Aid Foundation.
