What does taking part in these studies involve?
It involves entry into the ADVN Registry study. In this study, we will collect your health information and a small amount of blood. In addition, we will ask you to agree to be contacted in the future to see if you are interested in taking part in other ADVN studies.
If you agree to take part in other ADVN studies, a skin biopsy may be needed.
Step 1: Do you qualify for one of these studies?
The screening information below is the first step in determining if you are qualified for these studies. Carefully review "Who may participate in these studies." If you meet the criteria and you are interested, you can indicate your interest by proceeding to Step 2.
Who may participate in these studies?
- Males and females of any race who have active AD
- Males and females of any race who have outgrown AD (even if it has been inactive for many years)
- 1 to 80 years of age
- No other serious illness
- Those under age 18 must have a parent or legal guardian provide informed consent on their behalf
- Even though we are enrolling people regardless of race and ethnicity, we have a special need to enroll African Americans in these studies because they may be at greater risk. This risk may be related to a different genetic background.
